What should I wear?

At FBCSJ, our focus is on worshiping Jesus, not on what you wear. You may see some people in suits and dresses and others in jeans and shorts, but we want everyone to dress comfortably and come as you are.

What is the style of music?

Our congregation worships in a variety of styles and sings traditional psalms and hymns as well as contemporary spiritual songs. Our worship team- including vocalists and piano, leads us in congregational singing every week, but we also are accompanied by our organ as well.

Greeters will greet and direct you.

Our Greeters will greet you at the door (with a smile!) and direct you to the sanctuary, restrooms or where you can get a free cup of coffee. If you have a question or need assistance, don’t hesitate to ask them.

I'd like to talk more about what I heard during this service. Who can I talk to?

We'd love to talk to you! After the service, feel free to approach the pastor or one of the Greeters; typically they are greeting on the way out of church or remain in the front of church for those who would like to talk. We also have response cards on the back of the chairs in the sanctuary that can be filled out and placed in the offering plates during the offertory. Is childcare provided?

We offer Children's Church and nursery care during 9:00am Sunday School and the 10:15am Worship service. You are welcome to keep your children with you during the service, or they can join other children for an age-related Bible teaching. Our teachers are wonderful and very caring. Nursery for ages 0-2, Sunday School classes for ages 3 through Grade 5. Nursery care is also provided during the worship time as well as the sermon. Children's Church kids start off in worship with their parents to enjoy singing with the church family, then leave to Children’s Church after the offertory.

What kind of service message will I hear?

Sermons are expository and Bible based. The messages are meant to be presented entirely and exactly as it was intended by God. If you miss one or would like to listen to it again, sermons are uploaded to our website each week. Our hope is that you will be encouraged!
